Details:

Summary The Romanian DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 3,000 on REGENCY COMPANY SRL. The controller had installed video surveillance cameras in its premises for the purpose of monitoring access of people and security of premises and property. However, this allowed it to monitor its employees extensively. In the course of its investigation, the DPA found that the video surveillance was partly carried out without the consent of the employees and that the purposes underlying the surveillance could also be achieved by means less intrusive into the privacy of the employees.
